Wanksy In Kingsdown

Amusing little thing going on in Kingsdown at the moment. As mentioned here before, the ‘rose in a mousetrap’ Banksy piece up by the Hare on the Hill in Kingsdown has been framed and covered over to protect it reasonably recently.

So, next to it, someone drew a, well, rude picture, with the words ‘frame me’ flying out of the end of, um, it, and signed it ‘Wanksy’.

This got painted out fairly rapidly, presumably by the owners of the wall (as it wasn’t done in that ugly grey paint), but has since come back as ‘Wanksy II’ with the words ‘you can’t not frame me’.

This one could run and run couldn’t it.

Incidentally, had forgotten how good a view you get of the derelict buildings down on Stokes Croft from the end of that street, especially on a clear day.

    How old is the banksy?

Dunno actually. It’s in the ‘banging your head against a brick wall’ book, which was out in late 2001, so possibly around then, which would seem about right.
