Tribeone – Very random…

So i was walking down the Christmas Steps again today, not something i often do, and came across a guy painting some boards outside a shop front with some cans and stencils.

Turns out first of all that there’s a cool looking new shop on the Christmas Steps, with your usual selections of trainers, t shirts and artwork (must go back and check it out).

But also the guy, Tribe, who was just painting the shop signs, having painted a lovely totem pole piece at the back of the shop, is newish to Bristol after 18 years in France, and has some proper skills.

Was getting late, the light was fading, but got some snaps of the work in action.

The original sketch for the signs

On the left, an Angry…

…and on the right a Dave’s (not quite finished)

Just some of the stencils, paints and masking tape that go into this piece.

There’s even better on his blog

Your hairstyle says a lot about who you are, doesn’t it.

To quote the chap above ^ “Great blog, graff needs people like u!”

    I beg to differ.

Graff was doing fine before countless, clueless little twats like yourself showed up taking flicks of every piece of garbage some talentless twat with some stencils and banksy book for christmas painted.

Angry Daves isn’t a new shop, i’ts been open for ages.

And i’d be angry too if i had that shite painted on my shop 😀 hahaha.

Thanks. Don’t see how this blog’s harming graf though, and with lots of traffic, positive emails and hooking different artists up with opportunities, i’m inclined to think lots of people think it’s a good thing.

It’s not like people taking photos of bristol graf is a new thing either, i’ve been doing it 11 years and know people who’ve been doing it much longer. The only thing that’s different is how easy it’s got to share this stuff through the web, so it’s got more visible.

Ultimately mate, if you don’t like the content, then let me know. If you don’t like the idea of the site itself, you’re free to go read other ones.
