Something for the weekend – Roni Size and Reprazent live at Maida Vale

It’s not graf related as such, but found this the other day and just had to share it. It’s part one (you’ll find the other parts on Youtube) of the live session Roni Size and Reprazent did for Radio 1 at Maida Vale Studios as part of Radio 1’s 30th birthday celebrations.

It’s not too much of an overstatement to say that it was watching this that made me decide to move to Bristol all those years ago. This session was the last half hour on an hour long simultaneous broadcast between radio and TV, the first half was Westwood with some stupidly good beat boxing kids who’s names i forget. Remember watching Clive Deamer’s drumming utterly transfixed (still do…) and deciding that any city that could produce this sort of stuff was one i needed to live in.

I was right too.

So here it is to warm you up for your weekend, enjoy!

Awesome blast from the past – thanks for jogging the memory banks on that one.

Now I’m even more excited about the Roni Size Reprazent gig @ Thekla in a couple of weeks…
