New bits on Stokes Croft

Remember a week or two ago, some of the work down on Stokes Croft was ineptly painted over, possibly by the council, possibly not. Well, in double quick time, some new work has gone up to replace it, and it’s not bad at all.
A nice big Rowdy crocodile threatens to eat the, erm, ’sauna’.

A new show

Just had word there’s another show coming up at Guerilla Galleries on the Gloucester Road later this month, imaginatively titled ‘The New Show’. In the spirit of traditional lazy journalism, mixed with honesty, i’ll just leave it to their media release to tell you about it.
Guerrilla Galleries’ latest show opens its doors on Thursday 28th [...]

Hepburn Road, Bristol

I’ve always been intrigued by Hepburn Road, oddly narrow and tucked away. Used to have a club named Loco and then Maze on it, which held some wicked nights back in the day, sadly all gone now, along with the pill dealers who used to loiter at the end of Hepburn Road. Always amazed me, [...]

Picton Street and Picton Mews

Covered the end of Picton Street here before, but recently had an expore of the whole street. Odd really, it seems like a great street for graf, just ‘feels right’ in a way, but there’s very little on it now, and i have few memories of there being much on it before either.

Rowdy/sweet toof/cyclops doing their thang super size on the famous buildings, in pieces that still dominate [...]

Bristol graf video 1997

Found this the other day on Youtube, a whole load of video from around Bristol, apparently filmed in 1997. Certainly a piece in there dated ‘96 anyway.
Reminds me of the stuff i used to see back in the day, but there are a whole load of names i don’t recognise. Spotted rowdy/farmyardies (old spelling?), Inkie [...]

Picton Lane and end of Picton Street

In my more youthful days, i used to hang around this area quite a bit. It’s a real hotspot for graf, there was always a Banksy or two around, and loads of other artists too.
One of the most secluded parts of this area is Picton Lane, that runs along between Picton Street and Cheltenham Road. [...]
