I contacted Sylvia Ji to ask her permission to paint the piece and she was really happy to let me recreate it. I’ve sent her some pics so will wait to see what she thinks. Might even get a B?

It was taken in good jest believe me. Everyone who asked me during the two days of painting who the reference was and I showed them. Strangely enough the guy painting to the left of me had had a SJ Lady of the Dead tattooed on his forearm the week before.
It did occur to me after driving away that I should dedicate the piece to her – I may go back and do just that.
