Bristol graf video 1997

Found this the other day on Youtube, a whole load of video from around Bristol, apparently filmed in 1997. Certainly a piece in there dated ‘96 anyway.
Reminds me of the stuff i used to see back in the day, but there are a whole load of names i don’t recognise. Spotted rowdy/farmyardies (old spelling?), Inkie [...]

Picton Lane and end of Picton Street

In my more youthful days, i used to hang around this area quite a bit. It’s a real hotspot for graf, there was always a Banksy or two around, and loads of other artists too.
One of the most secluded parts of this area is Picton Lane, that runs along between Picton Street and Cheltenham Road. [...]

Xenz show closing

I love email newsletters sometimes, just had one from the Forster Gallery, saying the Xenz show is closing on the 22nd of December. If you haven’t been yet, you really should, it’s really very great.
Also, the boards outside of the gallery that he painted up in an awesome dark cities style are now up for [...]

A little St Werburghs path

Running off Mina Road in St Werburghs is a small path to Conduit Road. The path heads along the edge of the park there, and runs parallel to Roseberry Avenue. Always been a secluded spot for little bits of graf, here’s what’s there at the moment.
Starting up by the rather cool victorian urinal (which is [...]

Millpond/Baptist street

If you come into Bristol on the M32, you’ll have gone right past these two little streets, but had no reason to notice them. This is because they’re part of the old area of ‘Baptist Mills’, which is still on some maps nowadays, and was once famous for brass making, but was substantially destroyed and [...]

Brook Hill, Montpelier

Most of the streets in Montpelier have been covered in interesting graf for as long as i can remember, so finding stuff round here is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Brook Hill’s an oddly steep, short and secluded little road that kinda runs from the square by the Star and Garter pub up to York [...]

Is this the view in the Nick Walker print

Took a wander round today for some more graf shots and to see what new was out there. Found some great stuff, more of that later.
But one recent event in Bristol graf was the release of the first of Nick Walker’s ‘Morning After’ prints through his website. The first one was titled ‘Bristol’, and lots [...]

All over bar the postage…

A few years ago you could buy a Banksy print fairly easily from the Pictures on Walls website, in fact you could buy one more easily still from the (now sadly shut) Greenleaf Bookshop on Colston Street here in Bristol, which had loads of them in the window for months.
However, since the man’s now the [...]

A friend just sent me this e-christmas card they’d been sent, made me smile. Done by these chaps apparently.

Motorboy

This Motorboy poster went up on a board at the entrance to Trenchard Street car park on Park Row last week, guess it ties in with the 12 days show to some degree.Always been dark whenever I’ve gone past it so not been able to get a photo, but even during the day, this thin [...]
